About Cantor - Not an organ company, but an organ builder.Located in Veenendaal, The Netherlands, Cantor began building digital church organs in 1983. As both organists and electronic and software engineers, Cantor brings a unique talent and understanding to the world of digital organs. This love of the organ, as an historic instrument, is reflected in the practices that Cantor employs in building their digital organs. Even though you will see "organ models" such as "Positive 30", or "Quint 449", this is only a reference to a pre-determined console style and specification size. These organs are built on an individual basis, one at a time, to each client's unique tonal specifications and musical expectations. To build an organ of the highest sound quality and with - state of the art - digital organ technology requires not only technical knowledge, but dedication and a commitment to excellence and nothing short of a love of the organ. As a result, musician and electronics engineer have combined their knowledge of the traditional pipe organ with modern digital technology to create something "beyond the ordinary". At Cantor, we strive to be organ builders with a sense of perfection. |

| Organ Building The Dutch traditions of organ building tradition, and their commitment to quality and service are reflected in Cantor Organsr. Each inquiry is followed by a thorough consultation to evaluate the individual needs of each client. It is our goal that each individual has a clear understanding of the possibilities and characteristics that Cantor Organs can provide. Cantor digital organs are carefully designed to each client's specifications and hand crafted for each specific installation. The essential aspects of this design process are to plan the installation of the organ to maintain both an esthetic appearance in the room and ensure the proper placement of loudspeakers to resemble the location of the pipes in a traditional pipe organ. Through proper design and placement, we have the capability to accurately replicate the sound of a traditional pipe organ. |

| What Distinguishes Cantor from other Electronic Organ Companies? | ||
|
Quality... Unlike many other electronic organ companies, Cantor digital organs are not mass-produced based on a common design and shipped to dealer showrooms throughout the country. The Cantor digital organ offers a natural and authentic representation otherwise available only in the finest wind blown instruments. Cantor organs are built specifically for each client and offer advanced real time computing technology. Real time digital organ technology offers a sound that is unbelievably realistic when compared to some other companies which offer only sampled sounds in their organs. With other electronic organs, you are often limited to selecting an organ with a predetermined stop list supplied for each model of organ. Too often this means a canned, generic stop list that may or may not be exactly what you would select if you had the luxury of consulting with a custom organ builder to design an organ that meets both your tonal objectives and your budget. Onsite Tonal Finishing Not unlike a fine pipe organ, every Cantor digital organ is unique to each client. And like a pipe organ, the stop list, tonal characteristics, voicing, and tonal finishing of the instrument is critical to the organ's success. Initial voicing of a Cantor Digital Organ is done at the factory when the organ is built. Final voicing and tonal finishing are done on site when the organ is installed in the Church, Studio, or Living Room for which it was designed. Using dedicated computer software, the organ is voiced and regulated stop by stop, note by note taking into account the specific tonal requirements and acoustical characteristics of the room. This ensures the optimal harmonic blending of the organ's individual registers as well as the full chorus. |
